Community Service Block Grant (CSBG)
CSBG provides Gateway the framework and necessary tools to support our efforts in the fight against poverty. The funding supports projects, which provide outreach and support services for clients at or below poverty guidelines, with an emphasis on services to children, adults, elderly, and persons with disabilities.
|
The vision of the CSBG program is to preserve and advance the self-sufficiency and well being of individuals and families through education, guidance, and resources.
Gateway outreach staff work with clients to address their needs through provision of direct services and/or referrals in the following areas:
|
- Child Care
- Education
- Emergency Services
- Employment
- Health
|
- Housing
- Income Management
- Nutrition
- Self-Sufficiency
|
The referrals and services are provided as an effort to maximize the potential of low-income clients, guiding them to self-sufficiency. |
Mission |
The mission of the CSBG program is to strengthen the community by providing cost effective, coordinated services to those in need; thereby increasing hope and self-esteem, encouraging goal achievement, and improving self-sufficiency.
CSBG Programs and objectives are developed with direct input from the low-income population through needs assessment. Regardless of the needs identified, all outreach efforts are aimed at achieving the six national goals.
