Gateway's Affordable Housing Department's mission is to maintain a partnership with local, state, and federal entities in identifying, securing, and coordinating resources to alleviate substandard housing conditions for the eligible residents of Bath, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, and Rowan Counties. Within that mission is the commitment to promote nondiscrimination and ensure fair and equal housing opportunities for all. Gateway maintains an on-going effort to successfully operate programs under a collection of laws, executive orders, and regulations that prohibit discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, and familial status.

Gateway Community Services Organization, Inc. assists income eligible individuals and families to become homeowners through home buyer education classes, one-on-one counseling sessions, and identification of financial resources.
The one-to-one and group sessions address setting and achieving goals, budgeting, debt management, housing affordability, and maintenance. In addition, participants will be made aware of the following:

• Individuals and families must meet required guidelines to be eligible for home ownership
• Must not exceed HUD income guidelines for family size
• Must have sufficient expendable income to support payment, taxes, insurance, and maintenance
• Must be willing if needed to participate in clearing up prior credit problems
